They don't get lost

Your videos and messages are never kept in a single place. The moment you record something, it's copied and stored across multiple data centers at once — using replication and erasure coding, the same kind of resilient infrastructure banks and hospitals rely on. The storage we build on is rated for what engineers call eleven nines of durability — 99.999999999%.

In plain terms: for a single memory to be lost, several independent data centers would have to fail in the same instant, faster than the system could heal itself. It is genuinely harder to lose your archive here than to lose the photos on your own phone.

And your archive is always yours — you can download everything, anytime, and keep your own copy too.

We can afford to keep them — forever

A promise to keep something forever is only real if the company can actually afford to. We chose our technology specifically so that storing a lifetime of your memories costs a few dollars, not a fortune — and watching them costs nothing extra.

This is quietly the most important reason to trust the forever-promise: a company that couldn't afford to keep your videos would be misleading you when it promised to. We can, easily. So our promise is one we can actually keep.
